From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels easygoing yet intentional, making it a great place to settle in, whether you’re meeting friends or just grabbing a casual bite.

The menu leans into simple, satisfying dishes done right. One of the first things that caught my attention was the Dark Beer in a Tankard-served fresh and full-bodied, it sets the tone for the entire experience. If you’re into classic brewery offerings, the Pilsner Urquell is another solid choice, crisp and refreshing, pairing effortlessly with the food options.

Speaking of food, the Double Smash Burger is a must-try. It’s juicy, flavorful, and hits that perfect balance between indulgent and approachable. Alongside it, the Giant Warm Pretzel arrives soft, golden, and ideal for sharing, especially if you’re browsing the small plates section of the menu. The Cheese Balls are another highlight-crispy on the outside and rich on the inside, they’re the kind of snack you keep reaching for without even realizing it.

What customers say?

“ Very interesting Czech style pub. The beers were very good and loved the interesting way they pour and foam. They have several shanty options and I tried the one with tequila, it was light and not overpowering, very good. Beers are served in pub style large mugs. Food overall was very tasty. Pretzel was warm and soft. Smash burger was absolutely delicious, juicy, melty and perfect. The sausage plate was good but didn’t feel like a complete meal. The sweet Kokach was a little disappointing. The filling was good but the pastry was dry. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Overall I like this brewery and would return, the only negative is that the service was very slow and it was hard to get our server’s attention. ”

“ Incredible food. The best beer in Maine (!!!). Yeah, I said it. Every other brewery around here is 99% IPAs, and no one actually likes those, they just pretend to because they think it makes them look cool. Lagers are where it’s at. And SP knows how to make a damn good lager. My standouts on the menu are: the smash burger, the pretzel, and the schnitzel. ”

“ Fantastic meal at Sacred this holiday weekend. Cranberry Shandies were perfect for fall, and the FOOD! Poutine, giant pretzel, perogies til we were about to bust, smash burger, and THE SCHNITZEL! Hitting it out of the park. Oh, and the prettiest girl at the ball - the heirloom tomato salad... ”

“ We had a great time at Sacred Profane in Biddeford. The food was pretty good—highlights for us were the Rodeo Burger and the kielbasa with fries. The real standout, though, was the beer. Both the amber and the pale were excellent—crisp, flavorful, and well-crafted. The atmosphere is also worth noting: go on a nice day to enjoy the fresh open-air vibe downstairs, or come at night to check out the cozy lounge and beer hall upstairs. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. The staff were also super nice. ”

“ Very cool little Czech place off the beaten path. Their in house brews are great, and the menu has some authentic flavor, and a great set of options for a more refined palate. I've been there a few times now, and must say I do love this place. I likely wouldn't bring my picky eaters here, since there seems to be an option for mustard, mayo, or sauerkraut on mostly everything. ”

“ What a neat spot in Biddeford! We held a small networking event for my organization in the upstairs space and ordered some food off the regular and catering menus, and all was fantastic. The kolaches and pierogies were perfectly cooked, delicious, and even looked amazing. Service was friendly and prompt, and the space is very nice and has great ambience. Thanks to Brienne and the Sacred Profane team for your hospitality - I definitely plan to return when I'm in the area again. ”

“ Truly a hidden gem! Sacred Profane nails the trifecta of great beer, amazing food, and kind staff. It’s the only spot in the U.S. doing tank-pour lagers, where the beer is suspended from tanks and flows with gravity directly to the luger tap. They serve two types of lager beer AND have an extensive cocktail, wine and shandy list. The lobster roll with smoked trout roe, pierogis, and grilled cauliflower easily count among the best bar food we’ve ever had. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my weird allergy. Pro Tips - Ask about the tankpour setup—it’s worth learning about - Plenty of parking in front - Don’t miss the lobster roll - Lots of seating inside, outside and upstairs! ”

“ My husband has been wanting to check this place out forever and it was so worth the wait and drive from NH. We loved the outdoor seating, the beer was really great, and their smash burgers were really unbelievable. Our server was very sweet. We would return! ”
